History of B.J. Drake House Moving

Great-Great Grandfather Christopher Columbus Newton began moving houses in the late 1800's. He first started out building bridges and moving heavy equipment with the help of his two mules Tom and Dick. He used the mules until the first trucks were in service. Most of the Drake Family had moved to California during the depression. During the mid to late 1940's, he helped build ships and barges for the help with the War efforts.

During the war my father helped teach company employees the process of fitting and welding. During the late 1940's, my father, Floyd Drake, started in the house moving business to help with the growth of Houston as we know it now. The cleared out and moved hundreds of houses/buildings for the expansion of many of Houston's major freeways. They also moved many of the houses/buildings out to clear the land for the building of the Imperial Sugar Factory.

B.J. Drake House Moving has moved houses and buildings for many of the major companies and railroads throughout the Houston Area. We have assisted many of the Houston area and surrounding area families with raising and leveling their homes that were damaged by the big Houston floods. For the past 50 years, the Drake Family has serviced the Houston Community with buying, selling, moving, leveling, remodeling, and foundation repair to many different houses and buildings.

The 5th generation of the Drake Family hopes that we can be of service to you. You deserve to get your money's worth.
